Summary: Ichigo Kurosaki is an aggressive, troubling teenager and he possesses an exceptional ability to see spirits. The story begins with a stranger appearing in Ichigo’s bedroom. This stranger is the Shinigami (the god of death) Rukia Kuchiki, amazed by Ichigo being able to see her. Their conversation interrupted by a demon attacking Ichigo’s home. After being severely injured by having to protect Ichigo, she decides to pass half of her powers of death to Ichigo so that Ichigo will destroy the demon. But Ichigo accidentally drains all of her energy, helping him destroy that demon with ease.
