Summary: The world appears a monster with an armored heart. The only way to kill these creatures, known as "Kabane", is to destroy their armored hearts. Those bitten by it will turn into undead. On the island of Hinomoto, humans built stations to protect themselves from Kabane. Only armored steam locomotives (commonly known as Hayajiro) can move between stations. They transport the necessities over here. Ikoma, a steam smithing boy who lives at Aragane-eki, which is a production of steel and steam engines. He developed his own weapon, "Tsuranuki Tsutsu", to defeat Kabane. He was waiting for the day when he could exert his power.
