Summary: Story about of 17 year old high school student Shinichi Kudo is transformed into a boy Conan Edogawa. Shinichi is described as an excellent school detective. During a trip to the park "Tropical" with his childhood friend Ran Mori, he happened to witness a murder case, Kishida - a passenger in the game Express Train was killed. He helped the police solve the case. On the way home, he accidentally discovered a shady business of men wearing all black. When they found him, Shinichi was knocked unconscious. The men in black then gave him an untested poison Apotoxin-4869 (APTX 4869), to kill him. However, the poison did not kill Kudo, but only shrank him. When Ran asked for his name, Shinichi matched "Conan" in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's name and "Edogawa" in Edogawa Rampo's name, blurting out his name as "Conan Edogawa". Dr. Agasa asked Ran to look after Conan for her. Ran accepted the invitation and since then, Conan lives at Ran's home, Mori detective office, while concealing his identity while investigating the whereabouts of the Black Organization and searching for an antidote.
